Trailmaster Mentoring Program

Youngsters who successfully complete the Trailblazer Adventure Day can continue to learn about outdoor pursuits through the Trailmaster Program.

This one-of-a-kind opportunity for kids and parents to work directly with a Trail Guide mentor, exploring a variety of outdoor activities over the course of a year.  It is fun, educational and a great way to spend quality time together.

Trailmaster Program activities typically include:

  • Enrollment in a fishing, hunting, shooting or other outdoor education program

  • A trip to a sporting goods store to learn about equipment options

  • A trip to a shooting range for advanced target practice

  • Fishing trips

  • Hunting trips

Seasoned sportsmen who would like to volunteer for the Trailmaster Program, either individually or with their local sportsmen's club, can contact the U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance Foundation for more information.  E-mail trailblazer@ussportsmen.org or call 614-888-4868.

Boy Scout troops, Cub Scout packs and other youth groups that have participated in a Trailblazer Adventure Day can contact the U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance Foundation to find out about Trailmaster opportunities in your area.  E-mail trailblazer@ussportsmen.org or call 614-888-4868.

Host an event. Gander Mountain hosted three Trailmaster events at retail stores in fall 2006. This allowed the participants to investigate sporting equipment options. Clubs or businesses interested in hosting Trailmaster events should contact Frank Price at (614) 888-4868 or trailblazer@ussportsmen.org.
